Introduction to Clastic/Carbonate Petrography: 5 Days

Who should attend:

Geologists and structural geologists with a good basic understanding of geology who wish to further develop their skills in this area.

Overview:

This course covers the theory and application of the latest petrographic techniques with reference to clastic/carbonate rocks. The course will be split between formal lectures and practical workshops and guidance will be provided informally as problems arise. The course programme aims to provide participants with hands-on experience and understanding in handling petrographic data and performing interpretations.

  • Grain textures
  • Clastic/carbonate grain types (detrital mineralogy)
