Digital Signal Processing
Who should attend:
Geophysicists -acquisition, processing and interpretation- who are not familiar with the theory, and who intend to familiarize themselves with seismic data processing via subsequent courses. The length of the course can be adapted depending on the level of prior knowledge of the participants.
Overview:
This course gives a thorough introduction to the theory of digital signal processing. Special attention will be given to the digital processes that are relevant for seismic data processing.
Content:
- This course covers the following topics:
- complex calculus
- Fourier analysis
- Laplace transform
- linear systems
- sampling
- Z-transform
- stochastic processes and least-squares estimation
- least-squares filter design
- digital filter design
- the two-dimensional Fourier transform
- multi-trace filtering
