Thermal and Migration Modelling in 1D, 2D and 3D

Basin modelling software (usually IES PetromodTM, but BasinModTM available upon request) is used to create models of hydrocarbon generation and migration specific to identified source / carrier bed systems. The petroleum generation and migration history for particular source rocks (and carrier beds) is simulated within this framework on the basis of particular kerogens having set kinetic parameters that control catagenesis thresholds and rates of oil and gas generation with respect to temperature (and pressure) development. If sufficient kinetics data are available, hydrocarbon composition can also be modelled and predicted.
