Multiclient Reports: Completed in 2007

01 July 2008

Fugro Robertson is a world leader in non-exclusive, multi-client reports and digital datasets. For over 40 years it has been producing high quality products to support new ventures and exploration activities all over the world.

The Barents Sea - An Integrated Petroleum Systems Evaluation of the Norwegian and Russian Sectors

Completed March 2007

Understanding of the petroleum systems operating in the Norwegian and Russian sectors of the Barents Sea has been fully integrated in this study. Critical factors for success in this area include reservoir distribution and quality, source rock (identification, distribution and maturity), long distance migration, and problems with sealing and trap efficiency relating to timing of later Tertiary-Quaternary tilting and inversion.

The goal of this study was to improve understanding of the operation of the total petroleum system in the Barents Sea. Play definition and play fairway maps are drawn together from a number of different elements including: well logs, core descriptions, geochemical basin models (1D & 2D) and geoseismic sections. The database included with the report contains new data and analyses from both the Norwegian and Russian Barents Sea. The report builds significantly on the available published and public domain data by accessing a significant set of Russian data and providing a consistent interpretation. A significant component of regional 2D seismic data has also been used to constrain the mapping interpretation.

The study is available in both hard copy and digital formats, including an ArcGIS application. All new analytical and selected reviewed data are produced as a digital database. All maps are available digitally via ArcGIS.

East African Margin - Geological Evaluation and Isopach Mapping

Completed 2007

The East Africa region is poorly explored and perceived by the industry as a gas province despite the presence of oil prone source rocks. This is a data rich study of the Cenozoic and Mesozoic sediments of the region. An extensive data set (>100 wells) from Somalia in the north to Mozambique in the south has been used to improve the understanding of the stratigraphy and source rock potential. More than 10,000km of seismic data has been used to contract isopach maps and assess total sediment thickness. The study also includes structural elements maps, palaeogeographic reconstructions and a prospectivity summary.

Sediment Supply of the Black Sea Region

Completed 2007

Fugro Robertson has identified a requirement to reduce reservoir risk in the Black Sea basins by developing a better understanding and prediction of the evolution of sediment supply. The implications of the results for reservoir distribution and quality will be evaluated using new innovative techniques. Fugro Robertson's expertise in the analysis of modern day drainage and regional geomorphology is used to improve the understanding of sediment supply evolution with respect to reservoir development in adjacent offshore basins. This would provide the client with;

  • The location of sediment input points to offshore basins
  • Variations in provenance area through geological time
  • Qualitative data on the flux in sediment supply, volume and quality
  • Regional palaeogrographic evolution, particularly for the hinterland area
