The Exploration Group at Fugro Robertson has worked in virtually every hydrocarbon basin in the world, and has access to an enormous database of regional data and interpretations.

Data resources include global coverage for structural elements, play fairways, hydrocarbon resources, palaeogeographic maps and regional stratigraphy. Allied to our detailed regional knowledge, gained from both proprietary and multi-client projects, these data provide the basis for fast, effective and high quality completion of exploration related projects, including regional basin and play analyses.

With over 40 years of innovative experience in exploration assessment, Fugro Geoscience is able to undertake projects at any scale. Our non-exclusive global database (Tellus™) includes petroleum systems and play fairways for over 90 percent of known hydrocarbon basins and is supported by datasets of geochemical, sedimentological and stratigraphic information and over 500 regional studies. These huge datasets can form the basis for exploration studies at the global, regional, country and basin level. They are invaluable in providing a cost effective and innovative approach for new ventures exploration and appraisal. More specific assessment to prospect level is conducted using integrated teams and proprietary as well as Fugro non-proprietary data. Evaluation of the deliverablility and economics of an opportunity are undertaken by traditional methods or may involve full 3D petroleum systems modelling. Prospect economics can be linked to studies of product markets, future demand scenarios and deliverability.

In addition to assistance to operating oil companies and their partners, Fugro Geoscience can advise National Oil Companies and Governments on the prospectivity of their country, licensing of acreage and promotion of opportunities to the international oil industry.
