Recommended Tellus I.T. Requirements

Hardware and Software specifications

The Tellus data comprises three types: Spatial in SDE, Tabular in Oracle and Figures as PDF documents. These data can be served from either UNIX or Windows servers or as a Personal Geodatabase running locally on a desktop or laptop. The PDF documents may be served separately from another server. The extension is installed on the workstation and accesses the data via the network.

Third-party Software requirements

To operate Tellus, it is necessary to licence the following programs:

*Note:

Tellus Personal Geodatabase

The Personal Geodatabase version does not require Oracle or ArcSDE, and is an option for clients with less extensive user requirements. Data may be stored in MS Access.

A licence for ArcView is required.

Personal Geodatabase can be installed on a server for simultaneous use at multiple locations. However there are some limitations, and only one user at a time can edit maps and other data.

Personal Geodatabase can also be installed on a stand-alone PC.
